Chain-scraper surface scrapers are a type of sludge treatment equipment used in wastewater treatment facilities. They are used to remove and dispose of floating materials (such as oil, foam, suspended solids, etc.) in wastewater using physical techniques. Chain-scraper scrapers are used in rectangular-shaped tanks or channels, much like linear scrapers.
What are Chain Scrapers?
Chain scrapers, a piece of sludge treatment equipment, are used in rectangular channels, similar to linear scrapers. In chain-scraper scrapers, scraping blades are mounted between the shafts and gears at the corners of the tank. This allows the chain to perform an endless rotational movement, cleaning the accumulated sludge at the bottom, facilitated by the rotation of the drive shaft.
The chain-scraper system scrapes the sludge at the bottom, moving it to a half-silo. It scrapes the materials on the surface of the tank and transfers them to a side channel. These systems consist of a gear motor control unit, drive chains, and a drive shaft-mounted scraping blade. The movement of the gear motor sets two chain gears in motion.
Chain-scraper scrapers consist of five main groups. These groups can be listed as follows: the drive shaft and idle shaft, drive chains, and pull chains, and the gear motor control class.
These groups also consist of two sections. In the first section, the sludge collected from the bottom of the silo is brought together. In the second section, the raw materials scraped from the top section are collected.
Benefits and Features of Chain Scrapers
Chain scrapers are long-lasting due to their sturdy, resistant, and stainless structure. Additionally, they provide high efficiency and contribute to energy savings, thus helping reduce operational costs.
